MTTC 103 Elementary Practice

The process Mr. Kahn is modeling by posting a morning message with errors for students to correct is editing. Editing involves reviewing and making corrections to written work to improve clarity, grammar, punctuation, and overall quality. By presenting students with a message that contains deliberate errors, Mr. Kahn is encouraging them to engage in critical thinking and problem-solving as they identify and correct the mistakes. This exercise not only reinforces language mechanics and conventions but also helps students develop their literacy skills by understanding the importance of clear and accurate communication.

In this context, paraphrasing would involve restating the message in the student's own words, which is not the focus of the exercise. Decoding refers to the ability to translate printed words into their spoken equivalents, and inferring involves drawing conclusions or making predictions based on evidence within the text. Neither of these processes aligns with the task of correcting errors, thus reinforcing why the editing process is the correct answer in this scenario.
